Human Rights: New United Nation's Report on State of Child Well-being in Industrialised Countries
Hi,
I realised earlier that I haven't shared my recently reworked personal mission statement here on "Angela's Voice", nor had I spelled it out as such on my MySpace profile that I referred you to yesterday. So let's set that right, as it will explain a bit of a slight shift you may already have perceived in my recent posts.
During my annual December-January inner-haul, I took on the following as my long term life mission statement:
Assisting one billion of the current almost 7 billion Human Angels on Earth to meet, integrate and fully express their divine nature so as to recreate Earth as a space where every human being has good food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, money supply and full self expression.
Don't ask me the how's and the wherefore's... Angela the personality self doesn't have a clue. But my Soul and the Universe, Life does. And all will unfold if I do my daily job of focusing on being available to Life as a channel for what needs to be done to make the above a reality.
OK, that leads me into the main theme of this post. I read on Yahoo! News earlier of the new United Nations report on the welfare of children. Specifically:
The UNICEF charity looked at 40 indicators to gauge the lives of children in 21 economically advanced nations -- the first study of its kind -- and found Britain's children were among the poorest and most neglected.
The BBC's angle explains more about precisely how this study differs in scope and intent to test more broadly on the overall wellbeing of children rather than the more accustomed factors of child poverty or teenage pregnancies:
It attempts to bring together information from a wide range of existing studies across many aspects of a child's life - from birth weight to health behaviour, like smoking, sexual activity, diet and exercise.
It also embraces the more complicated realm of emotional well-being, including sections on relationships with family and friends and, perhaps most ambitious of all, how children feel about themselves and their lives.
The data itself is not newly commissioned.
But it is thought to be the first time existing data has been put together to form such a wide-ranging and comprehensive study.
The aim, it says, is to give a much more multi-dimensional view of how children are faring.
This report is important in the process of understanding how best to recreate our societal systems to support and allow children's natural gifts to find full expression. Adults have messed up this planet and it will fall on our children to make things right. We're right back to what I've started to discuss more here at "Angela's Voice": the balancing of the feminine with the masculine.
The more we understand and address the fact that our societal and educational systems generally cause the right brain intuitive, knowing functions of our children to shutdown in favour of the easier to train/test left brain logical functions, the quicker we'll be able to address balancing this. They won't be able to fix our mess if we handicap their core capabilities from the start.
Our children are becoming more disconnected from themselves faster and earlier than other generations. The impact of television, electronic games and less time spent in inner-focused activities such as reading or being active outside in nature underlies this.
I understand if many adults don't want to take the time to explore their own inner selves. If we get that failing to become more inner-directed ourselves forces the same on the children around us who model our behaviours, we may feel more motivated to seek and create more balance within ourselves and our lives as a contribution to assisting all our children create more balance within themselves. This can only maximise and facilitate increased collective balance in our world.
Enjoy the reports above and remember to deep breathe in the midst of creating an unforgetttable day today.
REMAIN Magnificently Blessed,
Angela.
