Mother Earth Blogging: Can Animal Karma Help Animal Rights Activists and Global Warming?

Mother Earth Blogging: Can Animal Karma Help Animal Rights Activists and Global Warming?

Hi,

I found an interesting little tidbit just now about a polar bear cub named Knut who is being fed and cared for in the Berlin Zoo.

It exemplifies the struggle between heart vs logic that we all face in our daily lives. It also is an example of how an understanding of broad, non-judgmental spirituality principles can assist in a shifting from, an opening up of, 'right/wrong' debates.

Animal rights experts feel that nature should have been allowed to take its course resulting in Knut dying of starvation and lack of care by his Mom in the wild like his brother... the animal rescue interferes with Nature debate. Some animal rights experts now feel it's best to kill Knut, perhaps by lethal injection and are against feeding Knut milk by hand.

The zoo takes the position that polar bears are becoming increasingly rare in the wild and saving, caring for and breeding polar bears in captivity makes sense. One animal rights experts agrees that it would have been best to leave the bear to die naturally but that killing the bear now is not a solution.

Here's the Yahoo! News Polar Bear Cup, Knut, Animal Rights story. What do you feel? What would you choose in this situation?

Was Knut's endangered animal 'karma' different from his brother's? Does his life's story, now a worldwide-watched event, assist in increasing greater awareness, love and compassion for our animal friends?

Is Knut's 'saving' one more of Life's ever-unfolding synchronistic events to march us all into being more conscious about stewarding Mother Earth's resources as partners rather than as 'rulers'? Can this assist the efforts of our brave and committed animal rights activists around the world who work for this so diligently every day?

Could the personification of, and intimacy with one endangered animal polar bear cub possibly help millions to understand more clearly how the ravages of excess human consumption affects the very lives of our wild animal companions in regard to the hotly-debated global warming issue, for example?

Will it help each one of us feel and move into action to take care of and be more responsible for ensuring that all life forms 'live and play well together' here on our collective host home, Mother Earth?

REMAIN Magnificently Blessed,

Angela.
